This large jasper donut shaped stone has been wrapped with 14k gold filled 22g wire. The wires on the front are bent in interesting ways while the ones on the back were left fairly untouched. The stone was left in a natural mat finish rather than buffed to a high polish. It is a lovely stone that fit well in the palm of my hand.

These coin shaped freshwater pearl has been dressed up with facetted drop of Labradorite. There is a blue fire in each that isn’t shown fully in this picture. But these sterling silver earrings are gorgeous under a nature light when they hang and swing from an earlobe.

I am playing catchup. I have gotten behind with my posts. Although I have created the pieces for the weeks. I have not been able to photograph them and post them. I was able to do the photographs yesterday and here is the results.

Using 18g sterling silver (ss) wire I shaped a large teardrop shape. The black and white freshwater pearls were wired on using 24g ss wire to create a woven effect like a screen across the space. I have taken inspiration from others in the CWJ group and I like the resulting pendant very much. The pendant could be hung from leather, ss chain, or a black or gray ribbon.

This week I have dipped into my bag of softly facetted garnet beads. 18 gauge sterling silver wire was bent into a swirl and the garnets and a pearl were added with a 22 gauge sterling silver wire. a simple wrapped loop creates the bail for the chain. I was thinking that a ribbon in a cream or mauve would be a nice way to create the necklace with this lovely pendant.

I started this necklace last week when the theme was “The colors of Jasper”. I’m using picture jasper heart and tubes for the focal and accent beads. The wire is 20 gauge 14K gold filled as is the delicate curb chain. I thought this would look best in gold.. but I am tempted to try it in silver too. I don’t wear much gold, I am partial to silver but people are always asking if I do anything in gold. So I bit the bullet and invested in the wire noted above .
The wire was swirled around to create the connection and jump rings were wound and cut by hand. I didn’t straighten the loop on the ends of the side pieces but left hem more in a scroll or “S” shape, even the ones through the jasper tube.
It is comfortable to wear and hits just right for an open collar or “V” neck blouse.

The sky blue swarvski crystals are lined up on gold tone chain. I formed french earwires from 14k gold filled 20 guage wire. They swing with every movement and not only catch the light beautifully but are very comfortable and a pleasure to wear.
I seem to have an almost endless stock of earrings, my favorite to create. I have to almost force myself to create necklaces and bracelets… I’ve not started working on rings… I have a ring mandrel on my shopping wish list but I will wait until I have a good mandrel to use.

More gold earrings. More swarvski crystals, some opalite chips and czech glass stars.

I am excited to finish a couple of new pieces. Although I am not participating in the spring session of the FSOJ I am continuing to create and produce more pieces. I”ll be posting a few of my favorites over the next few days to show what I am doing. Just a sample here…..

The changes at work have caused more than a minor setback for me. It has effected every aspect of my life. I had every intention of participating in the spring session of the 4 seasons of jewelry, but my real life got just a bit too real for me. I will finish up with the winter postings…. photographing my work got soooooo behind that I have to post the photos…
I will continue to work on my jewelry but I will take a break and sadly not participate in the spring of FSOJ.

What week is this anyway… I am sooooo far behind. I was going to skip one week and now find myself 2 weeks and soon 3 weeks behind…. Changes at work and in my life have made this a very challenging season. I have signed up for the next season and will see if I can pull this one off better than the last one… Winter has always been a hard time for me…. this one has been the worst so far I think…
Sterling Silver wire… rose colored swarvski crystals… pewter charm…. What have you got? A chandelier style of earrings with a cascade of rosy crystals. They are swingy and feel wonderful as one moves through the rhythms of their day.
I love how they turned out. I debated removing the single crystal a the top thinking them too cumbersum…. but without it they look clunky and lose a lot of swing.
