Front viewback view

This large jasper donut shaped stone has been wrapped with 14k gold filled 22g wire.  The wires on the front are bent in interesting ways while the ones on the back were left fairly untouched.  The stone was left in a natural mat finish rather than buffed to a high polish.  It is a lovely stone that fit well in the palm of my hand.

Coin fw pearl w/ labradorite drops
These coin shaped freshwater pearl has been dressed up with facetted drop of Labradorite.  There is a blue fire in each that isn’t shown fully in this picture.  But these sterling silver earrings are gorgeous under a nature light when they hang and swing from an earlobe.

Week 43 - Wired Pearls

Filed under: Summer, Four Seasons of Jewelry — bcweaves @ 10:52 am

I am playing catchup.  I have gotten behind with my posts.  Although I have created the pieces for the weeks.  I have not been able to photograph them and post them.  I was able to do the photographs yesterday and here is the results.

stearling silver and pearls        wire and pearl on wood

Using 18g sterling silver (ss) wire I shaped a large teardrop shape.  The black and white freshwater pearls were wired on using 24g ss wire to create a woven effect like a screen across the space.  I have taken inspiration from others in the CWJ group and I like the resulting pendant very much.  The pendant could be hung from leather, ss chain, or a black or gray ribbon.
