It has been a long time since we posted an update on the site, it isn't that long since we added items to the site.
Real world issues have been the main reason that I have not spent as much time on the site as I would like to have. But in the last few weeks I have updated numerous items on the site, including a newer layout, header, updating the lightbox on the graphics part of the site, updating the preview images, and finally getting around to fixing the bug with the avatars section which now shows the images.
Stay tuned, I will be posting more now that my new job has settled down a little.

We have finally completed the move from cutenews to a new way of displaying all the items on the site.
Cutenews was great when we were testing on the local server and when the database (flat file) was small, once we added posts to the site we found that the site was slowing down and worse still that some of the posts were getting corrupted.
We now use a mysql database to stop this and have found that the site is a lot quicker.
We still have a few things to work on. Updates will follow.

After looking at the visitor logs of the site and wondering what was happening with a steady decline of visitors, I put myself into a visitors shoes and went looking around the site.
The first thing that I have changed is the definitions pages, instead of doing the layout in an alphabetical order we are now doing it by time the articles are added. So all the newest ones are shown first.
The second thing that I am doing is working on a sitemap for visitors, we have one for search engines, I am adding one for users. ( I will also work on adding it to the 404 pages).
The team are also hard at work getting articles prepared for you and should be adding them daily to all sections of the site.
