Everyone seems to know of at least one haunted house; as kids there was almost certainly one in our own neighbourhood. This list contains the most famous and most haunted places in the world. If you have had any experiences of a similar nature, feel free to tell us about it in the comments. This legend of a mysterious light is also known as the “Ghost Road” of Saratoga, the “Saratoga Light”, and “Bragg Road Ghost Light” by local residents. Located on a dirt road, it is a light that may appear and disappear at random during the dark of night without explanation.

Leonis Adobe, built in 1844, is one of the oldest surviving private residences in Los Angeles County and one of the oldest surviving buildings in the San Fernando Valley. Located in what is now Calabasas, California, the adobe was occupied by the wealthy rancher, Miguel Leonis, until his death in 1889. Following Leonis’ death, the property was the subject of a legal dispute between his common law wife, heirs, and a daughter born out of wedlock; the dispute lasted more than 15 years in the courts.

The Gudgeonville Covered Bridge was a 84-foot (25.6 m) long Multiple King-post Truss covered bridge over Elk Creek in Girard Township, Erie County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It was built in 1868 and was listed on the National Register of Historical Places on September 17, 1980. It was destroyed by arson on November 8, 2008.

Greyfriars Kirkyard is the graveyard surrounding Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is in the hands of a separate trust from the church. For many people, the graveyard is associated primarily with Greyfriars Bobby, the loyal dog who guarded his master’s grave. Though Bobby’s headstone is at the entrance to the Kirkyard, he is actually buried at a grassy verge by a wall nearby, as the Kirk authorities would not allow his burial on consecrated ground. The dog’s famous statue is opposite the graveyard’s gate, at the junction of George IV Bridge, and Candlemaker Row.
