Bloodspoint Road is the name of a scary short road located between Fairdale and Pearl Road in Boone County, in Illinois, USA. It’s one of the Top Haunted Roads in the world. Harboring supernatural mystery combined with a bloody past, it’s the site of many hauntings as well as many crimes. Traces of murders, accidents, suicides, and yes, even witchcraft can still be felt in this eerie haunted road.

The surface of the road is asphalted. It’s a very disturbing and dangerous place to be. The road has developed a reputation for being the source of strange experiences and hauntings. This road has been long avoided by the more skittish locals. If one travels on this road toward the cemetery, he will notice a bridge just above the train tracks. Once, a school bus filled with children flew off the bridge, killing all the passengers a long time ago. Today, if a car is put in neutral on this spot, it will be mysteriously pushed across the bridge. There is also a traffic light in the area that seems to change locations. In the cemetery many have seen a ghost and heard whistling.

The road has developed a reputation for being the source of strange experiences and hauntings. It has gained for itself a terrifying reputation, and some have even said Blood Point Road is the most terrifying road anyone could find themselves on in the middle of the night. It has been the site of many disturbing events in the past including murders, suicides, a child that was hit by a train and hangings. One of the worst events was a family that was murdered in the area.

Ghostresearch.org says that while you drive along Bloodspoint Road that most people will notice that the trees begin to look like human beings standing guard. People say that that it’s almost if the trees are watching your every move as you drive down the road.

If you dare to venture out of your vehicle on foot the look out for the trees!

The tree’s wooded limbs stretch, in an effort to reach out and grab you. Perhaps the trees are attempting to warn you of things to come if you dare to continue on, but many claim that the heavily wooded area where the trees breathe life are where the ghosts congregate, and if you are quiet, you can watch their every move until they catch site of those that dare to trespass on their sacred grounds.

Now I have to admit, a couple of years ago I took a walk along Bloods Point Rd just north of Bloods Point Cemetery and don’t recall any of that that happening, but if you let your imagination wander, you never know.

Ever notice how everything looks scarier when it’s nighttime and images appear in black and white?

What’s so scary about Blood’s Point Cemetery (besides the spooky name)? According to Ghostresearch.org, throughout the years cemetery visitors say that have encountered:

Hellhounds guarding the cemetery
Dogs that come out of nowhere and attack visitors, then instantly disappear
Ghosts and spirits have been seen walking along Blood’s Point Rd

If you make it to Bloods Point Cemetery, especially during the months of September and October, don’t try to enter the cemetery grounds as Boone County Police maintain presence to keep potential vandals away from the area.

Here’s a peek at how the cemetery looks during daylight hours. Unfortunately, vandalism from some individuals has caused damage to Blood’s Point.
