A detailed historical timeline of UFO crash retrievals and Legacy Programs. From 1947 to present, a coordinated effort operating as a hidden shadow of the US government, nestled within the National Security Council’s covert activity oversight structure, has operated with a focused mission: the retrieval, storage, exploitation, derivation, reverse engineering, and program protection of non-human technical vehicles, aka UFOs. This project seeks to build out a functional timeline of how the Legacy Programs began, morphed, and adapted over the decades, particularly to address how this once unified national effort degraded into a shell of itself in the 21st century, a siloed mission space devoid of centralized leadership. For such an analysis, this timeline featuring over 3 dozen entries will be broken up into relevant epochs which accurately encapsulate major “eras” of the Legacy Programs:
- the Golden Era (1947-1978)
- the Cold War Reorganization (1978-1994)
- the Modern Era (1994-Present)
By structuring the Legacy Program lifespan into such epochs, this project will carefully evaluate major milestones, crash retrieval, personnel, executive orders, etc., to build an accurate assessment of the Legacy ecosystem. Each major epoch of the Legacy Programs details stark contrasts within program objectives, leadership, cohesiveness, etc…. The Golden Era illustrates the greatest covert national effort ever conceived by humankind, what can only be described as “the Manhattan Project 2.0”. The Cold War Reorganization details a period of turbulence, where while the programs enjoyed myriad breakthroughs and successes, the legacy program structure began to sever off pieces of itself to hide within cover offices and programs as well as the private sector. The Modern Era highlights an epoch of dysfunction… Kickstarted by breaking away the UFO steering group into a quasi-industry and USGOV control group of 27, this era is defined by factionality, limited disclosure initiatives, and private defense contractors establishing their own crash retrieval initiatives. Of course, this timeline is based on my work and expertise, thus fully centered on the crash retrieval and reverse engineering subjects. There are likely dozens of entries I am missing here, and dozens more that fall outside my aperture! A fully accurate scope of the legacy programs is nearly impossible, so perhaps I will visit this topic yearly with additional entries.
